WE WON!

I'm absolutely thrilled to report that the cookbook I compiled, The Masala Mamas: Recipes and Stories from the Indian Women Changing their Communities through Food and Love,  WON the international Gourmand Award for food books in the category of fundraising! How exciting is that!!

Special shout-out to all the sponsors of the book, especially Andrew Jacobs and Huseyin Arslan, as well as all the sponsors whose names you can see here

Special thanks to the designer, Shoshana Balofsky, and to photographers Adit Goschalk, Ingrid Muller and Avigayil Sztokman, who made the book beautiful,

Thanks to all those who bought the book! All proceeds go to the women working in the Mumbai slums to provide hot meals for kids going to school.

And special thanks to the amazing women who continue to give their hearts and souls to this project with a belief that women who nourish others can in fact change the world!

To learn more about our book, or to purchase the book and support the incredible work of women in the Kalwa slum or about Gabriel Project Mumbai, go here
